Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to become stewards of Hilton Head, promoting conservation, ecological awareness, and responsible practices.
Through education, advocacy, and collaborative initiatives, we strive to address pressing environmental issues facing our island, and work towards a more ecologically sound future here.
Reduce single-use bottles on HHI and Support our Go Fund Me Campaign for a Mobile Water Station!
Hilton Head Island Rotary Lowcountry Environmental Club is addressing the environmental issues facing our island. One of our projects is the huge impact of single-use water bottles by our 3+ million visitors a year, residents and high-density community events.
Raising money for a mobile water station will meet personal hydration needs and eliminate thousands of plastic bottles annually. This Quench Buggy™ will be available to community groups during large events, helping to promote environmentally friendly reusable water containers.
About Us
The Rotary Club of Hilton Head Lowcountry Environmental Club gathered members from environmental nonprofits on the island to form a collaboration to improve environmental stewardship of residents and visitors to Hilton Head Island. Leaders from Outside Foundation, Sea Turtle Patrol Hilton Head Island, Audubon, Port Royal Sound Foundation are among the founders. Motivated, environmentally focused residents soon joined the club. The current project focuses on raising money for a mobile water station. It is designed to meet personal hydration needs and reduce the use of thousands of plastic bottles that are discarded here annually. We will be able to loan it to community groups during events to promote awareness for environmentally friendly reusable water containers.
Our projects are funded by donations from a variety of sources ranging from island residents and businesses to local foundations. To learn more about how you can help, contact us at HHIrotaryenvironment@gmail.com.
We meet twice each month and welcome you to join us!
